destacado del semestre

    Well, this term I am studying chamber music with Jorge Pepi, who is a great profesor. In this class I have two mates, they are Antonia and Claudio, they play flauta and violoncello consecutively. We are playing a Weber´s trio  wich is very intresting and It is wrote in a romantic style. We are really exited because Jorge Pepi help us very much to understand this music and He teach us to rehearse.
Well, this semestre I have six subject, but “instrument” and “chamber music” are the two most important. I thing that It will be a good semestre  because I am studying every day although I must to work four days a week to pay my career. I  to approve any time to study piano.

I am knowing a lot intresting people and this is very important for me. I like to talk with the pepople about life, music or  anything. I would like to travel to play or study in other country like E.E.U.U. or England and improve my English.

    Jorge Pepi is one of the great masters of this faculty. Take advantage of all your knowledge for the camera music course.

Have you ever been in Andacollo? well, Andacollo is a town near from La Serena city. In this place there are many traditions. For example, in october and December there is a celebration to Virgen del Rosario de Andacollo. In this celebration you can see many cultural expresion. In the picture we can apreciate an ancient religious dance, which is very important in the history of Andacollo, Chile and latinoamerican culture. In the picture you can see a kind of flute which exists since before the arrival of the spanish to our country. The sound of this religious dance reminds us about the lament of the miner. The "chinos" (quechua word) dance during many hours to greet to "La Chinita del Rosario" playing their instruments and singing their old melodies. I always can feel the emotion that I had when I was a child and I lived in my town with my family. Carlos Botto He was a Chilean pianist, composer and professor. Carlos Botto was born in Viña del  Mar in 1923, in this city he began his piano studies with Odelia Malfatti. In 1948 he entered to National Conservatory in Santiago where he studie piano and composition. He was disciple of Gustavo Becerra, Domingo Santa Cruz and Juan Orrego Salas. Late he was student of Luigi Dallapicola in New York. Botto was professor in Universidad de Chile and Esuela Moderna de Música, he became in director of National Conservatory between 1961 and 1968. He also was president of The Musical Younths between 1961 and 1974.   His music for piano is very interesting and complex, for example his “Caprichos” for piano are a great work which have a big development of harmony and form. Today his music is important to any Chilean pianist, his pieces are an essential part in the Chilean repertory. Hi musician friends, today I want to talk about a web site: www.ismlp.org .  This site is very important for any musician because it contain a lot scores by the most of classical composers. In the main menu you go to scores and you can chose the composers and instrument or group that you need. Also you can search by nationality, instrumentation, time period and genre. There are compositions, transcription, arrangements and audio files to listen to works by composers of all age. In this site you can free download the scores that you need.  If you want you can donate money to help to this incredible library but it is not required. Also you can purchase a membership or participate in forum or chat in the community. Also you can upload your scores and to share them with other musicians.
